Success Stories at Unicity Singapore & Malaysia Convention 2007, Kuala Lumpur

The Convention was a great success with top regional Unicity achievers like Nancy Long sharing their success stories and testimonies and committing themselves to doing better in the coming year and thereby qualifying for the Unicity Global Convention in Pusan, Korea in 18-21 Sept 2008.

High Times at The Convention

Team Rich members were in full force at Unicity’s Singapore & Malaysia Convention 2007 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Some members drove up north by cars and many others took the tour coaches.

At the posh JW Marriott hotel, we were given a red carpet reception. This was followed by presentations (eg. Christopher Kim, Vice President of Unicity North Asia, Rahman Johar, General Manager, Singapore and Malaysia, and Nancy Long, Presidential Sapphire), workshops, panel discussions, group discussions, sharing sessions, business and product testimonies, music videos, games, product expo etc. In the Potato Challenge, we learn about the power of duplication ie when one person managed to push a straw through a raw potato, everybody was able to duplicate his success. We really enjoyed all the sessions and made lots of new friends in the process.

At night, Unicity treated us to a sumptuous Gala Dinner with entertainment at J W Marriott Hotel. All those who were promoted in the last few months were recognized on stage by the company. It was a great feeling to be acknowledged as the top achievers of Unicity!

The next day we used our fat Unicity bonuses to go on a shopping and dining spree. Sadly, all good things must come to an end and we had to make our way back to Singapore after a 2 day stay in Malaysia.

Unicity Global Convention, Pusan, Korea 2008

Unicity Global Convention, Pusan, Korea, 18-21 September 2007

We are all looking forward to the next Unicity Global Convention in Pusan in September 2008 which promises to be an even more prestigious event to qualify for. This company incentive trip (free – convention admission, flight and hotel accommodation) is definitely not to be missed! Every self-respecting Unicity business associate should plan to attend the Convention whether or not they qualify for the incentive trip because they will have much to learn from the top international Unicity achievers speaking at and attending the Convention.

Unicity is planning for a convention of 10,000 people, with thousands from Japan and Korea! Based on company indications, the free-trip program will likely challenge us to climb at least one major rank, Executive Manager or higher, and stay there for up to four months, depending on the rank. Based on previous Unicity Convention contests, it should not be too difficult to qualify for this all expenses paid trip provided you stay focused, start fast and maintain momentum throughout the qualification period. Watch out for the company announcement on the Pusan Convention 2008 Contest which will be announced soon!

Before we embark on our great journey into another incredible year, Nancy Long will be having a year end celebration at her house on New Year’s Eve from 7pm. Team Rich members, please do come and help us usher in a prosperous 2008.

Success Stories

We have many success stories this year because of our innovative Bios Life Franchise scheme. For this time, we are just highlighting our 4 newly promoted Directors from Singapore and Malaysia because they have provided great inspiration and leadership to all our business builders. Congratulations guys and see you at the next level!

In an recent interview, our team’s newly promoted Directors shared their success stories and testimonies on the Unicity business:

Samuel, Director:

“The key reason why I chose Network Marketing is because I had found the meaning in it. I understand what it has to offer in the long run. I often hear people complain about their lives in several areas. I would ask them if they can find a place that offer them health, wealth, freedom along with an opportunity to develop themselves; would they want to do something about it? It is usually that simple.

No matter how difficult and unfair life can seem at times, we should never ever give up hope. We must believe in ourselves and continue to dare to dream of the best for us and our family. Our dreams will inspire us daily to take action and to keep moving forward. We expect failures and setbacks to come because they will. However, it is not what happens to us that determine our destiny, but what we choose to do about it that makes the difference. We will eventually find a way to realize our dreams.”

Kelly, Director:

“If there is anything I was good at, it was at being Persistent. Despite my gnawing frustration, I kept on doing the things that I had to do: presenting my business to people and setting up appointments – even on bad days, I did all that.

Persistence and Positivism are things that we all possess, and they are always at our disposal. You only need to decide to use them.”

Amy & Douglas, Director:

“Be persistent and stay focus, work with your uplines, share your experiences with your success line, be a team player, these are the ingredients which enable us to earn a double promotion – a fantastic feat in this region. Through support, care and concern, you can build a loyal team of business partners and customers.”

Joan, Director:

“I’ve always believed that it is important to set ourselves right from the start. I’d like to share something I learn from my upline in 2002. It is called “The ABCD of Success“.

  • A is for Attitude (we have to think, act and feel like a winner);
  • B is for Believe (Believe in the industry, the company, its products and most importantly, believe in yourself);
  • C is for Commitment (be a user of our products; attend 1-3 meetings or trainings a week);
  • D is for Dream (know your dream, work for it).

In each of these areas, we are to aim to score a 10 on a scale of 1-10. The ideal is: AxBxCxD = 10X10X10X10 = 10,000. That can be the size of our cheques. If we’re not getting that, work on ourselves further. “

Nancy Long, Presidential Sapphire:

“My Life is a living testimony to the Power of the Dream. About Committing yourself to the Dream. About Paying the Price to realize the Dream. And Living the Dream. When you have a Big Dream and want it badly enough, you will have Superhuman Powers to overcome all Obstacles and achieve phenomenal Results. If you focus on the Objectives, the Obstacles will fade away. If you focus on the problems, you will never reach your Objective.…”

“Success is a game. The more you play, the better you get. The better you become, the more likely your efforts will see Results. The more results you get, the more people you will want to See. The more people you see, the greater will be your Success. Be good at your game and play it everyday. That is the only way to win big and stay a Winner!”

List of Things to be Grateful for

Sunday, September 30, 2007 · Leave a Comment

List of Things to be Grateful for

Tomorrow’s Sunday and we’ll get to do all the fun stuff that we usually do on Sundays like taking our kids to places they like, like having a nice lunch / dinner at our favorite restaurants, like meeting up with friends etc. Everyday can be a Sunday day too. If we believe it to be so.

We all have so much to be thankful for, no matter what is the circumstances of our lives. If we reflect on the things in our lives, we will be able to see many things that should be grateful for. Many of these things may seem thrivial compared to our seemingly pressing wants. But what we want is not necessarily what we really need. If we focus on what we really need rather than what we want (our wants are mostly the gratification of material possessions), we will see that we have had a bountiful harvest and have much to be thankful for. The best way for us to measure our true “wealth” is to write down all the things we should be grateful for and all the things we don’t have and therefore should be “grateful” for. A sort of “Assets” and “Liabilities” test. If we go through our list, we will see the greater value of true wealth compared to the transitional and often fleeting values of what we want.

Here is What some people say about being Grateful and Positive:

  • “Gratitude is our most direct line to God and the angels. If we take the time, no matter how crazy and troubled we feel, we can find something to be thankful for”. – Terry Lynn Taylor
  • “Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is a Mystery. Today is a Gift. That is Why We Call it the ‘Present’ “Eugénie des Alpages.
  • “I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought, and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.” - G. K. Chesterton
  • “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” – W. Clement Stone.

To give you a Kick Start, I made up a list of things I should be grateful for. A sort of Happiness Index. Why don’t you do one for yourself? When you have done your own Happiness Index with a positive frame of mind, chances are you will see how fortunate you are. If everybody did an audit on the things they should to be thankful for, we could perhaps increase the Happiness Index throughout the world. So this is . . . . . .

True Rags to Riches Stories

Thursday, September 27, 2007 · Leave a Comment

True Rags to Riches Stories

There are many Rags to Riches stories in Direct Sales. An opportunity to earn a very high income from a low investment – if you persevere and choose the right company to work with.

A delegation of 12 (8 from Singapore and 4 from Indonesia) had the opportunity to attend and witness the many true rags to riches stories in Unicity Thailand. And this is only one market where Unicity has genuine cases of people earning good money in a long term direct selling business.

Our first stop was Presidential Diamond, Khum Joe and his lovely wife’s brand new bungalow house. It’s lovely and cozy home (see YouTube video below). Just 3-4 years ago, Joe was struggling to survive. How did he manage to turn around in such a short time and earn a seven figure annual income from his Unicity Franchise business?

Joe very candidly shared his secrets of his rags to riches stories:

Choose the Right Network Marketing Company:

Like what his mentor and sponsor would always say “If you join the wrong company (meaning companies which is not going to last very long), you have already failed from day one. All your work will go to waste when the company closes down.

Have a Big Outcome:

Have A Clear and Crystallized Vision of your Future. When your outcome is big, you are not perturbed by the problems and obstacles you may face along the way. If your Vision is unclear, you will surely stumble and fall. You will get discouraged and quit. That is why so many people fail . Their Vision is blurred. He will not work with anyone who does not have a clear vision.

More Heart:

Most people like to say “I Must Work Hard”. Joe will say “More Heart Put More Passion Into Your Work”.

More Action:

Big & Clear Vision + Right Massive, Consistent Action = Big Outcome.

Follow The System:

A Good System should be Simple, Easy, Effective and Duplicable. He uses CD tools extensively for his training. Thailand is so big. Many of his associates are in far remote provinces and they learn from Leaders through such training CDs.

He even uses a speech I made at the Unicity Bangkok Convention 2006 as a motivational tool for his associates. It is no wonder, many of the Thai delegates at this Bangkok Rally Convention recognized me.

Nancy Long’s CD used as marketing tool in Thailand

His 8 Step System:

  1. Be a Unicity Franchise Owner
  2. Set Your Dreams and Target
  3. Name List
  4. Invitation
  5. Show the Plan
  6. Follow Up
  7. Work With the System
  8. Planning and Consultation

The remarkable difference between Thailand and the neighboring countries is they did not bargain with the company for a lower Start Up amount or a Lower Maintenance. From day one, they stuck to the 500PV (equivalent to S$1200) of initial purchase of products if someone wants to start the Unicity Franchise and a Monthly Commitment of 200 PV (about S$500). Joe said that he did not want to waste time with someone who is not able to raise S$1200 to start a big business.

For those who are unable to consume S$500 worth of product per month, they can, for example, use S$100 and sell S$400.

We were in for a surprise! We found out that many of them actually used more than S$500 worth of products per month for themselves and their family. They even wiped out stocks in Singapore because of the high demand in Thailand.

Joe and his team have come a long way. (It is not that long ago – 4-5 years – for him to go from zero income to a 7 figure annual income (US$, not Baht!).

Amazing to see so many young people ages 20-30 earning between S$10,000-30,000 per month. They are like Joe – ordinary folks who have Big Dreams. They come from all walks of life – from teachers, nurses, government employees, clerks, secretaries to professionals, and owners of businesses.

Khum (Thai for “Mr”) Joe (38 years old), Thai Presidential Diamond

For the last 20 years, Khum Joe had been in and out of many network marketing / mlm / direct sales companies. Most of the time, the lifespan of these companies were far shorter than his tenure in the company. Each time a MLM or direct sales company collapsed, he lost everything. He even started his own network marketing company. He finally gave up because it could not provide him the lifestyle he dreamed of: Time + Money Freedom.

He was also a consultant to some network marketing / MLM companies and that too did not last long. Deep in his heart, he knew that the only way for him to get what he wanted is to build a very successful franchise in a proven company (which has a good track record and offers real, marketable products). The opportunity came when a Unicity Presidential Sapphire spoke to him about the Unicity business.

The initial start up period in Unicity Thailand was no plain sailing. At one stage (in 2004), his Franchise Owners were reduced from a few hundreds to just a handful. In spite of this major setback, he believed deep in his heart that the Unicity Franchise can make his dreams come true. So he persisted with the remaining few leaders and within a few years, they brought in thousands of new Franchise Owners.

We also attended Joe’s UniPower Seminars and they were packed with more than 2000 enthusiastic people.

Joe’s success is an inspiration to millions of Thais as well as to many people throughout the region. During the trip, we came across many other successful and inspirational direct selling stories. I will share these rags to riches stories with you at another time.

The Thais are experiencing great success with another 30% growth in August 2007. Despite having 100 or more network marketing companies / MLM operating in Thailand, Unicity’s Super Chlorophyll Powder are selling like hot cakes. It is a drink of choice for their film stars, doctors, politicians, right down to taxi drivers, construction workers. This is a testimony to the efficacy of Unicity products.

Super Chlorophyll Powder
(Derived from nutrition-rich alfalfa, this chlorophyll supplement supports overall cleansing and health. Retail: US$18.00
)(S$35)

Towards the end of September 2007, Joe will lead a team over 200 Thai delegates to the Unicity Japan Convention. By the time they get to Japan, they will have more than 250 new Presidential Directors. This is certainly cause for celebration in the Thai camp. And a victory for direct sellers.

……………………

The following Singapore Delegates also shared their experiences on the trip:

Priscilla Pang, Executive Director:

The Bangkok Business Rally proves to me, once again, that the Unicity business has a level playing field. People who come in “late” into the business, not only have a chance of doing well, but even exceeding the earnings of those who joined earlier. This is the true test of a good network marketing / MLM company.

With Unicity, everyone can succeed – even physically handicapped people, like Pong Sak from Chiang Mai, Thailand, who is wheelchair bound. He became Senior Manager within a few months of joining Unicity!

Hearing & talking to Pong Sak is such an inspiration! “People look at me as a person on wheelchair, but my brain is not sitting on a wheelchair! My Dreams do not sit on a wheelchair!” If a physically disabled person simply would not let his handicap stop him from pursuing his Dreams, what about the rest of us?. How often do we meet able people who have forgotten how to Dream? Or worse still, don’t believe they could achieve their Dreams? Let’s share this amazing life story of Pong Sak with them, for it could reignite their dreams.

On being asked how he managed to travel all the way from Chiang Mai to attend the Rally in Bangkok, Pong Sak said “My heart is there for Unicity, if I want to be there, I will get there!” How powerful!

Similarly, I won’t let excuses stop me from pursuing what I feel is important to me! I’ll just simply do it till I get it – that’s the most valuable lesson for me. If disabled person can do it, so can I!

Samuel K, Director:

The only way to succeed in direct sales is to be a great leader.

A successful Bangkok Business Rally and the following day’s full day training had a turnout of more than 2000 people. The Thais are not only growing , they are growing bigger and faster.

When I saw the size of the crowd attending the Rally, it immediately gave me a motivating thought. The only way to grow to a size like that is to have a good number of leaders. The bigger the organization we want to build, the more leaders we need to have.

We saw a couple of Presidential Club members moving up the ranks during this trip. This is encouraging as it shows that the growth is consistent with people moving up in a predictable manner.

We have all heard Stewart Hughes talk about the importance of leadership, here in Thailand we got to see leadership at its best. For how can a man run host an event for more than 2000 associates all by himself? Not to mention 2 concurrent sessions of training in one day. Bottom line: Size of Organization = Number of Leaders.

So I guess the question is how do we get a good number of leaders in our organization? Well, we can look at the success of the Thais for inspiration, we can look at our immediate up line for guidance or we can look at the mirror and start working with that person.

I am inspired to develop myself and more importantly lead myself even more just like how my up line, Nancy Long does, setting an great example and walking the talk. If the Thais can do it, so can we.

Jennifer N, Executive Manager:

I admire the enthusiasm of Thai people and their Business Associates. Whether young or old, they joined Unicity with a clear dream in mind.

The turnout of the Rally on the 8 September 2007 at Rama Garden was truly awesome. Two thousand plus of them coming to the event with so much energy and enthusiasm! All of them came for the Rally with the correct attitude. Wearing different color polo t-shirts, they reflect unity in diversity.

People who are serious about the network marketing business must know how to dream. They know, too, what it takes to achieve the dream. For example, a Thai lady from the province taught us that anyone can do the business successfully as long as they put their hearts and souls into it. Initially, she did not even dare to talk to people. However, driven by her dream, she learn to open up and persevere, and talk to as many people as possible. She now owns a Mercedes car. Her husband helps to chauffeur her from province to province so she can deliver products. She now has no problems talking to a big group of people.

My strategy is to:

  1. add more names in my contact list,
  2. call more people, meet more people,
  3. talk to more people about the business and products
  4. and therefore achieve a positive growth in my direct sales organization.

Action speaks louder than words. Less Work / Effort = Less Results. On the other hand, More Work / Effort = Better Results.

Another Rags to Riches Story.

Nancy Long SG – The Recruiting Machine

Monday, August 20, 2007 · Leave a Comment

Nancy Long SG

- The Recruiting Machine

“Someone once said that great gifts come in small package but is is one of Unicity’s greatest business builders in Singapore. Nancy Long has PERSONALLY RECRUITED OVER 100 BUSINESS ASSOCIATES and helped her organisation duplicate her success. She rose from a new Business Associate to PRESIDENTIAL DIRECTOR IN 4 MONTHS. Six months after that she achieved the rank of Presidential Sapphire, the 3rd highest rank in Unicity.

Nancy Long SG - The Recruiting Machine

Nancy Long knows the meaning of commitment and not looking back. When Singapore amended the Multi-Level Marketing Act in 2000, Nancy saw the opportunity. She walked away from a seven figure income as an insurance executive to start a new career with Unicity. She totally believes that she is in the right company at the right time to be part of the network marketing explosion of the new millennium.

The stresses of Nancy Long’s insurance job had taken its toll on her body. Suffering from chronic fatigue, joint and body pains and unable to sleep more than 2 hours a day, Nancy began to take Unicity products. After using the Cleanse and Build pack and Enjuvenate, she felt like she was young again and she was able to sleep through the night”.

NANCY LONG’S BUSINESS BUILDING SECRETS

TRUE LEADERSHIP:

“I must continue to recruit each month and do the basics or I can’t tell my people to follow me. Our job is to recruit and help others to do the same, not to manage and depend on others to do your work for you. People don’t want to be managed, they want to follow a true leader”

FAST START:

“The first 90 days for a new Business Associate are critical for business builders. I help my people intensely for 90 days so they can have early success and keep growing and stay with the business”

A FEW KEY PEOPLE:

“All it takes is a few key people who want to be successful as much as you do and you will grow a large organisation. The key is to find those people”

AUTOSHIP:

“If a person will stay on Autoship and use the products for at least 3 months, they will be a customer for life. We have great products. When people use the products for several months, they don’t want to be without them. Get your people on Autoship from the beginning” More
