Watch YouTube | Picasa on TV

Good news for fans of Google YouTube streaming videos and Picasa Web Albums. If you have been having problems watching YouTube online videos on your PC, you will soon be able to watch streaming videos and access Picasa Web Albums (an online photo-sharing service) on your new TV. If you have the budget, go for it!

TV with a YouTube Button on its Remote Control

Panasonic has announced (at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show, CES in Las Vegas) that, by the middle of the year, consumers in the USA and elsewhere will be able to watch YouTube on Panasonic’s flagship, the Viera PZ850 on big screen (46-65 inch models) High Defination Plasma TV viewers. Price of such web enabled TV sets have not been announced yet. Such enhanced TVs will provide much relieve to long suffering PC users who have difficulty accessing streamed videos from YouTube.

Off course, you will need an internet connection via an Ethernet port or Wi-Fi capability. Such services are not new and will compete with Microsoft’s IPTV Media Software, Microsoft Media Centre Software and Apple’s iPhones.

Panasonic promises that their “elegant” one click access Viera Cast on-screen interface will make it easy for users to browse, find, and display free online content on the Internet. Hopefully, Panasonic’s Digital Cinema Color Re-Mastering picture quality controls will help improve YouTube’s picture quality somewhat when viewed from such TV sets. Rock on!

Such innovations will spur the growth and explosion for on-line streaming video content. It will make it simple and easy for users to access the videos and images. With only one click on the remote controller, Panasonic’s Viera will give viewers immediate access to YouTube, Picasa and probably other online streamed content. Much like the way the popular BitTorrent, on-demand content and user-generated content have done for Internet – pushing the explosive growth of on-line movies and other information rich content and the creation of new sites that offer such services.

Wouldn’t it be great if you have a party and your guests can watch your latest photo albums or perhaps your YouTube videos on TV? This first collaboration between Matsushita Electric (Panasonic) and Google which will make the Google TV dream closer to reality. With this TV, mainstream users will have easy and direct access to YouTube etc from the comfort of their living or bed rooms.

In the meantime, here is some help for those who can’t or unable watch YouTube streaming videos on their PCs.© teamrich.wordpress.com – watch youtube on TV
